Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Associate I

Reports To: Manager, Logistics

Group/Division: Logistics

Career Band: I

Location: Rockford, IL

No. of Direct Reports: 0

Day/Shift: Monday - Friday/8 AM - 4:30 PM

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

To pull and pack all hazardous and non-hazardous materials for domestic and international shipments.

  • Pack both hazardous and non-hazardous materials for domestic and international shipments.
  • Understand regulations for shipping hazardous material by ground, sea, and air.
  • Count and shelve incoming stock.
  • Perform Cycle Counts
  • Assist internal customers
  • Notify Supervisor when packing supplies are low.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Advise others who are unfamiliar with regulations, the most appropriate way to package materials.
  • Post or pull orders as requested.
  • Assist with literature fulfillment.
  • Must complete own section of performance appraisal.
  • Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives
Hazmat Training is required according to 49 CFR regulations within 90 days of employment. Recurrent training is required once every two years.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to package contained hazardous materials to include flammable, corrosive and toxic materials.
  • Must be willing to learn, understand and follow international and domestic shipping regulations.
  • Operate postage machines.
  • Operate an RF Scanner
  • Operate a forklift and other powered industrial trucks
  • Operate a Joey, person lift.
  • Lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Stand and walk for the entirety of the shift.
  • Work in multiple tempered environments on a regular basis -20OC and 4OC
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
