Vertiv is hiring a Materials Planner in Lincoln, NE who will be responsible for developing and maintaining master production schedules assuring proper planning of production priorities, capacity, materials, inventory, and resource requirements. In addition, this role must provide clear communication of requirements and capabilities to sales, purchasing, engineering, and operations and drive continuous improvement in the planning process to enable scalability as the company grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set the overall level of manufacturing and other activities to best satisfy the current and planned level of sales, while meeting business plan objectives for profitability, competitive customer lead times, service levels, etc.
  • Capture and report on actual customer demand, trends, and forecasts; conduct analysis of capacity problems, adjust capacity plans accordingly and/or advise on corrective action.
  • Ensure a consistent handoff of planning information to production.
  • Manage activities of a level loaded Master Production Schedule while maintaining targeted inventory levels.
  • Maintain a valid capacity requirement plan that supports the Master Production Schedule.
  • Establish and monitor ERP system parameters, including institution of MRP quantities and due dates that meet lead time, safety stock, and lot size policies established for each item.
  • Lead Production Schedule meetings as needed and participate in the SIOP process at Vertiv.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, to achieve on time delivery at optimum cost with optimum inventory levels.
  • Support product line reviews ensuring slow moving products are proactively identified and timely introduction of new products are achieved.
  • Work with Operations and Sales Management to reserve capacity as necessary.
  • Create weekly and monthly reports and KPIs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in Planning and Scheduling.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or other Technical Degree
  • ASCM/APICS certification in production and inventory management (CPIM)
  • Professional (CSCP) a plus.
  • Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)
  • Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.)
TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED
  • 10%
