Job Description

GPIisseeking a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager in New England. Are you a Building Systems Project Manager who is looking for an opportunity to build and run a group in New England? If so, you should apply, because this ad is for you!

This position will provide a lot of opportunities for professional growth. Our Building Systems Engineering Group provides a range of services to various clients spanning markets, including infrastructure, corporate, residential, and commercial.

This person will work with GPI's local leadership and Building Systems leadership from across the country to establish GPI's New England Building Systems presence. This includes taking on existing projects and client relationships in New England, as well as developing new business. This person will also work to build the team necessary to service the business.

Basic Responsibilities Include:

  • Accountable for providing system design calculations and other related design services, including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external)
  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed
  • Lead project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to junior staff
  • Interface with clients (as required) and attend design meetings
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects
  • Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building
Advanced Responsibilities Include:
  • Preparation and negotiating of technical scope and fee proposals
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team in the development of the technical design and construction documents
  • Coordination with client, team, and stakeholders to deliver program projects in adherence with schedule and budget
  • Project Management responsibilities on multiple assignments
  • Hiring and developing a top-quality team, including staff development and maintaining GPI's employee-focused culture
  • Developing and sustaining relationships with clients and industry partners to further the business
Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required
  • 8+ years' experience designing Mechanical HVAC Building Systems
  • PE is required., or the ability to gain reciprocity in MA and other New England states within 6 months is also required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required, Revit preferred
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Energy Codes required
  • Experience with management, leadership and client interaction are all a plus
  • Experience with LEED/Sustainable Design is a plus

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
