Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare team.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including wound dressings, suture removal, and specimen collection.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and procedures accurately and timely.
- Schedule patient appointments and assist with patient registration and insurance verification.
- Manage phone calls, inquiries, and coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment, including stocking supplies.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA and infection control protocols.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary clinical setting, following established protocols for disposal of hazardous waste.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
