Job Description

SubCom, LLC in Eatontown, New Jersey is looking for a Member of Technical Staff to work on GUI (graphical user interface) and Web design for modern subsea telecommunication networks. Assist in the design and implementation of Subsea Network Management Systems centering on both wet plant and Dry Plant Network element management. Work on Java-based design and implementation of state-of-the-art Network Management User Interfaces. Work on Web-based SubSea Network Management design and implementation using current web development tools. Develop ReST API Network Management in Java/Spring/Springboot environments. Participate in the design, implementation and testing of state-of-the-art Web-based Security interfaces for network management. Assist in tracking and managing project detailed plans of work using Microsoft Project. Create detailed software engineering designs using best practices and current software design engineering platforms.

Requirements: Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or foreign equivalent, and six months of experience in the position offered or in a closely related position.

Special Requirements: Experience or education must include:

Java AWT (Abstract Windowing Toolkit) and Swing for standalone Java applications.

Designing and coding Java and Web based GUIs and related interfaces

Design and development experience required in Java and Web based GUI development for subsea network elements using REACT, node.js frameworks, JASON, REST, JQuery and Web sockets.

Secure linux interfaces and basic knowledge of modern cyber security.

Experience with Codebase and IDE development platforms - Github, Gitlab, Eclipse.

Experience with modern JUNIT and other code testing interfaces required and tools such as babel, enzyme, Mocha.

Working knowledge of Data Communication Network (DCN) interfaces and routing protocols required (IP Switch, Router).
