Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is looking for a Mgr. Engineering 1 to lead a team of talented of multi-disciplined engineers, technicians and analysts in support Fielding Engineering and Logistics for programs in the Immersive Mission Solutions Operating Unit. The location of this position is at Orlando, FL. The Engineering Manager will be working alongside fellow engineering professionals, as we continue to products for our customers. The position supports the engineering organization goals for providing people, processes and tools to meet the current and future needs of the programs and technologies within the sector portfolio.

The selected candidate will provide functional leadership to the team in a strong engineering organization, collaborating with peers across multiple organizations. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. Candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 18 years relevant experience. Will also consider a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 9 years of experience or a Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of experience
  • Perform logistics product support analyses to identify parts, equipment, activities and skillset necessary to maintain systems and retain operational availability for over 100 sites across numerous programs
  • Supervise a multi-functional logistics and field engineer staff providing set administration, automated systems, planning, maintenance and supply, readiness reporting, accountability, storage, and inventory management
  • Previous experience in people and technical leadership roles
  • Demonstrated collaboration across functional groups
  • Conduct audits for logistic and field engineering activities, such as storage, distribution or transportation and PCAs
  • Work with programs to develop and maintain logistics management process to ensure maximal efficiency of product recycling, reuse, or final disposal
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current and future logistical and field engineering processes
  • Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree
  • Experience with Distributed Mission Operations and SATCOM Programs
  • Experience with procurement of materials and services
  • Experience with installing and troubleshooting computing systems
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools such as AssestSmart
  • Experience with manufacturing or ticketing systems such as SAP, Jira, and Confluence
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting network hardware
  • Experience leading a team in the Engineering department of a matrix-like organization
