As a Banking Specialist, you help create the energy and excitement around Amerant Bank products, providing the right solutions and getting products into customers’ hands. This internship is full of opportunities to participate collaboratively in various projects and additional assignments that directly contribute to the success of the unit you assist. In addition, the intern will have opportunities to interact and be mentored by executives and senior leadership. Upon completion of the intern program there is potential to obtain a full-time or project-based offer.

Growth in Competence and Knowledge:
  • Gained Experience (during apprenticeship)
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:
  • Process all manner of financial transaction requests including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, issuance of cashiers’ checks.
  • Ability to open new accounts and perform maintenance transactions on the Bank’s platform system including debit card issuance and ongoing maintenance as well as completion of Know Your Customer requirements. Execute all operation responsibilities relative to opening and maintain all products and services.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures per Retail Banking’s operating manuals, employee handbook and all other that apply to the position functions. Ensure all regulatory requirements as well as security and audit procedures are adhered to always.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Act as a customer advocate to ensure we meet the needs of our customers and prospects with the intent of enhancing customer retention and engagement.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

  • Responsible for acquiring, retaining and expanding new and existing customer relationships by providing a positive new account experience, profiling, assessing customer needs, and recommending and selling appropriate banking products and services.
  • Intern will be required to successfully complete all required course work within the allotted timeframe.
  • Progress will be monitored by the intern’s performance of required tasks by collaborative coaches, senior management, and the intern program director.
  • Interns will be assigned to an intern manager and will also gain exposure to multiple departments at the bank.
  • Interns will work with teammates and their manager on projects important to the bank's goals. On the job learning will be provided.
  • Interns will participate in team meetings, training, and presentations as available
