Role Description:

Design and engineer new equipment and parts required for the manufacturing of glass containers to satisfy or exceed Ardagh Group's established standards and meet our ROI goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design new and replacement mould equipment for manufacturing plants to maintain required production of glass containers
  • Ensure mould designs are engineered properly within the manufacturing process capabilities of our asset base.
  • Design within equipment standards, machine compatibility, material requirements, manufacturing requirements, specifications, and timelines.
  • Manage design work with a degree of complexity which includes machine standardization, sampling and testing, mould shop communication and file storage.
  • Troubleshoot concerns with products or equipment and provide necessary resolutions to improve or correct issues in the design.
  • Evaluate and determine design requirements by utilizing tools for weights and measures.
  • Manage testing of new designs and sample teams in the manufacturing plants.
  • Deliver all design work utilizing Creo software
  • Provide input as necessary to Customers and Commercial teams with focus on manufacturing capability
  • Provide input as necessary to Production teams with focus on quality of products and Continuous improvement objectives

Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate must be proficient with Creo or similar 3D software (preferably with at least five (5) years' experience) and familiar with AutoCAD software
  • Ideal candidate should have a familiarity with basic engineering drawing practices.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Previous experience in mould design techniques is desired. Will consider a combination of education and advance experience.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a familiarity with machine limits and standards is desired.
  • Ideal candidate is preferred to have prior design analysis work with a customer relation focus and be capable of creative thinking
  • Ideal candidate will be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Ideal candidate will have the ability to identify problems and make recommendations
  • Ideal candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Ideal candidate will have Capability/Desire to 10-20% travel
