Sarstedt, Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of laboratory consumables, medical devices and instruments, is looking for a Mold Maintenance Technician to join their Mold Maintenance Department.The company offers a competitive salary and benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short or long term disability, a 401(k) plan and life insurance. This is a 2nd shift position. Hours are 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on molds, correcting mold defects, and completing required documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and completes mold repairs in the Tool Shop and on the Production floor in accordance with the mold condition report.

  • Performs preventative maintenance as required.

  • Completes all required documents, including mold condition reports, mold spare parts report, and enters the date into the BDE system.

  • Assists in training and directing Apprentices to meet production goals and learning objectives.

  • Responsible for the care of mold components during all aspects of mold disassembly and assembly.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Other duties may be assigned or apparent or required by management.


Job Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a Mechanical Science field from a two-year college or technical school; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic knowledge of metal polishing and mold electrical wiring.

  • Ability to use various types of hand tools.

  • Working knowledge of the metric measurement system.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word Processing software, Microsoft Access Database software, and Profitemp software.
