Job Description Summary
The Move and Projects Coordinator is a 36 month term position, with the possibility for extension, that will oversee three major functions for The School of Arts & Sciences Facilities Planning & Operations group: Move planning & Coordination, Project coordination for non-capital projects, and non-project furniture coordination. The move coordination function involves the planning and execution of moves related to large capital as well as non-capital projects including but not limited to labs, offices, & teaching spaces. The incumbent will follow the established SAS move processes and guidelines and work collaboratively with Project Managers, building administration staff, as well as SAS FPO Directors to coordinate and execute moves. These moves will be both multi-phase moves related to upcoming Capital Projects like the the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology and subsequent projects, as well as other moves around the school.
Job Description
SAS Facilities Planning & Operations provides services in project coordination, building administration, and operational services to the various departments within the School of Arts and Sciences. The project management group provides PM services to SAS buildings, departments and end users for renovation, new construction, energy efficiency, and infrastructure projects.
Duties:
The Move and Projects Coordinator is a 36-month term position, with the possibility for extension, that will oversee three major functions for The School of Arts & Sciences Facilities Planning & Operations group: Move planning & Coordination, Project coordination for non-capital projects, and non-project furniture coordination. The move coordination function involves the planning and execution of moves related to large capital as well as non-capital projects including but not limited to labs, offices, & teaching spaces. The incumbent will follow the established SAS move processes and guidelines and work collaboratively with Project Managers, building administration staff, as well as SAS FPO Directors to coordinate and execute moves. These moves will be both multi-phase moves related to upcoming Capital Projects like the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy, Science, and Technology and subsequent projects, as well as other moves around The School.
The project coordination function manages and implements a number of interior renovation, finish, and fit-out projects for The School. This requires the incumbent to follow established processes in SAS FPO to work with FRES Small Projects Group. The position will support the Space & Projects Manager as they meet with end users, identify and develop program requirements, and develop biddable documents for SPG as necessary. The furniture coordination function will include (in collaboration with other SAS FPO project management staff) management of project related, as well as non-project furniture requests. These miscellaneous requests are submitted via the furniture request webform, which takes requests for furniture repair or replacement from members of the school. The furniture coordinator will then work with the PM and requestor to identify the requirements and funding for the project, and specifies, orders, and coordinates installation of furniture from a variety of vendors used by The School.
Qualifications
High School Grad/GE Degree, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A four-year degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Facilities Management is strongly preferred. Candidate should possess strong communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal. Candidate must be proficient in Auto CAD bluebeam or equivalent, Microsoft Office Suite and the Adobe creative suite.
