Purpose

The purpose of the NA Digital ESG/Sustainability Market Leader is to develop and implement a business plan that integrates GHD's digital capabilities, services, solutions, and products into compelling client value propositions across GHD's business, differentiates GHD in the ESG/Sustainability market, and meets long-term sales growth goals. This position will be based out of our Houston, TX office, or near any of our US GHD offices.

Additionally, the role will

  • Create focus around key clients whereby we can begin to build a growing digital ESG/Sustainability business
  • Provide clarity around GHD's digital ESG/Sustainability services, solutions and products within the NA market and identify gaps to be addressed
  • Define digital ESG/Sustainability focus areas and services/solutions/products linked to GHD's service lines
  • Provide leadership in the NA market for GHD's ESG/Sustainability Go-To-Market strategy
  • Act as a "translator" between GHD's Digital Practices and GHD's ESG/Sustainability practitioners (within core and advisory) to enable digital solutions developed and delivered by the digital practices to meet client and market needs
  • Collaborate with other market and strategic initiative leaders in the NA market, identifying opportunities to integrate digital solutions, services, or products
  • Define recruitment and resourcing plans and requirements and interface with the Digital Environment Market Leader to recruit key talent.
  • Lead or actively contribute to strategic sales activities to meet annual and long-term growth goals
  • Provide conceptual solution development leadership for specific client opportunities
  • Oversee the delivery of strategic ESG/Sustainability digital projects as Project Director to ensure successful project completion
The NA Digital ESG/Sustainability Market Leader will equip GHD's NA region to deliver on GHD's digital ESG/Sustainability value propositions by anticipating client needs and enabling an aligned approach through active linkages across all NA regions.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Performance

  • Bring strategic thought leadership on how to integrate digital services, solutions and products to solve our clients' key ESG/Sustainability challenges in a way that adds value or results in better outcomes for our clients
  • Leads strategic planning and develops a business plan with tangible outcomes of clients, markets and opportunities in relation to the different digital ESG/Sustainability services, solutions and products that GHD offers (will offer)
  • Business Plan must be aligned with the GHD Environmental and Digital Business Plans
  • Business Plan will align with the Global Environment 4.0 Strategic Initiative
  • Strategic and business plans need to be future focused considering opportunities for applying new technology to bring higher value and better outcomes to our clients while differentiating GHD in the marketplace
Financial Performance
  • Leads and drives business development and sales of digital ESG/Sustainability services, solutions and products in collaboration with the wider GHD business, attaining growth goals
  • Achieves appropriate and effective pricing strategies to maximize profit in context of revenue growth objectives
  • Work in a collaborative way to achieve team objectives and personal objectives
  • Projects overseen as Project Director meet revenue and profitability metrics
Client Focus & Delivery
  • Provide input into the development of key client development plans with respect to digitally driven opportunities and/or where possible the enhancement of ESG/Sustainability outcomes for all client deliverables
  • Pursues client contacts, establishes, and fosters long-term client relationships with a focus on developing new project opportunities, and strengthening repeat business
  • Develops and leads effective management, communication, and tracking processes, and implements Client Relationship Management (CRM) strategies supporting Market client goals within the Region. This includes supporting the creation of CRM plans for select clients
  • Work closely with service line leaders and market leaders to identify opportunities to scale digital services, solutions and products across multiple clients and market sectors
  • Identifies short-term and long-term client needs or concerns to address; provides pertinent information and follow-up; recommends options, solutions; sets a forward course of action; delivers proposal opportunities
  • Monitor's client activity across Markets and recommends improved ways of increasing client penetration
  • Expands technical knowledge and understanding to promote GHD services and capabilities.
  • Support Go/No Go reviews ensuring plan alignment with pursuit champions, taking care to include subject matter experts, client account leads, Market and Business Group leads as appropriate.
  • Leads positioning and pursuit sales strategies with pursuit teams for key opportunities in the Region. Works with Pursuit Leaders and critically reviews and approves proposals submitted to clients
  • In conjunction with service line, market leaders, and marketing, develop and refine a key narrative and marketing collateral in relation to GHD's digital ESG/Sustainability services, solutions, and products
  • Act as a champion of GHD's Digital ESG/Sustainability capability, building strong relationships with internal staff and externally with clients
  • Actively participates in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand. Represents and promotes GHD at networking events, professional and industrial associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows
HSE and Risk Management
  • Implementation of GHD risk management practices in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Review key submissions that are critical for the ongoing performance of the business (including Go/No Go review).
  • Implementation of the GHD Management Systems for Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Environment.
  • Previews contracts and coordinates with Legal for review of Terms and Conditions on non-standard risk engagements
People and technical capability
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members to create a network of high-performing digital ESG/Sustainability champions
  • Stay up to date on new technologies and how they can be applied to solve our clients' environmental challenges
  • With the Digital Practice Directors and Environmental Service Line Leaders, build, develop and enhance internal capability to ensure all necessary knowledge, skills, experience, processes, and systems are aligned to effectively deliver on product and service commitments.
  • Continues with professional development through training and educational programs with guidance and approval from senior management
  • Coaches and mentors' staff as it relates to the development of key clients in the Region. Effectively provides feedback to ensure effective client development practices are being implemented.
  • Build, develop and manage external strategic partnerships.
  • Build effective relationships with Market Leaders, Client Relationship Managers, Service Line Leaders and other key personnel.
  • Liaise with key members of the NA leadership team, to ensure alignment of business drivers
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in a senior leadership role, delivering a broad range of projects with a sustainability component.
  • A strong track record of engaging with GHD teams and key clients
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant engineering, science, social science or project management discipline.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence
  • 15+ years in senior leadership or market development roles
  • 15+ years in client development/account management role with Fortune 500 accounts
  • Strong knowledge of ESG/Sustainability market, market drivers and client needs
  • Strong knowledge of digital solutions and experience in applying them to solve client ESG/Sustainability challenges
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and presentation skills
  • Experience and demonstrated discipline in all phases/stages of the business development processes including prospecting, positioning, pursuing, interviewing and contracting new work
  • Proven track record in achieving growth in sales
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant environmental, engineering, science, social science, technology, or project management discipline
