Are you our next North American Shared Services (NASS) Accountant?

As a Mosaic North American Shared Services (NASS) Accountant, you will be supporting Mosaic's North American Business which mines and produces high-quality fertilizers and animal feed to our customers all around the world to help farmers nourish their crops and maximize their yields. Mosaic is a publicly traded, Fortune 500 company with over 12,000 employees world-wide that support our organizational Mission to help the world grow the food it needs. This is a great opportunity to join a Shared Services team and become a strategic partner for the business where you can bring your experience and innovative ideas.

What will you do?

  • Learn about Mosaic and our production and distribution services business model to understand how we produce and distribute products that help the world grow the food it needs.
  • Participate in month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation of balance sheet entries, expense accruals and capital projects.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline for various North American legal entities, and accounting for balance sheet accounts to ensure that volumes and prices are accounted for correctly per GAAP
  • Prepare monthly accounting and government reporting as required, and other related activities for North America which may include cash application and cash accounting activities as well as fixed asset management.
  • Identify outstanding reconciliation issues and ensure that variances are promptly researched and resolved monthly.
  • Support of other North American Shared Services (NASS) Accounting areas as required; including but not limited to revenue recognition, warehousing, distribution and procurement.
  • Assist in identifying potential projects and process improvements in a Continuous Improvement environment.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business with emphasis in accounting and/or finance is required.
  • 3+ years' experience in general accounting duties including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and internal controls with the ability to apply these principles in practice.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Enjoys collaboratively challenging the business and creating innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
