Nucor Business Technology (NBT)is seeking qualified applicants for the position ofData Engineer Lead

As NBT Data Engineer Lead, this position will be a technical leader on the Data Integration Team.

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership in building world-class data integration solutions to support business needs.

  • The role will be responsible for defining and modeling the data integration architecture needs across the Nucor Enterprise.
  • Ensure that industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards are integrated and followed to meet technical and business objectives.
  • Lead future expansion efforts of the Data Warehouse environments both on-prem and within the Cloud.
  • Maintain secure, high quality, reliable data delivery.
  • Work closely with teams to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions that meet current needs and are scalable to adopt future changes in technology. Leading this effort requires coordination and integration with various project teams across Nucor.
  • Function as lead engineer/architect to provide oversight and technical direction within the Informatica Cloud Services Migration
  • Lead effort to design and implement a new Data Lakehouse architecture for Nucor divisions needing a local datastore for raw data, and filtered datasets to the Lakehouse
  • Provide assistance and thought leadership for defining our Nucor Master and Reference Data Management strategy.
This is a full-time, permanent position with the Nucor Business Technology Team. Teammate location may be based in Charlotte NC, Dallas TX..

A willingness to travel periodically and domestically is required to satisfy project or training demands.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in designing, building, and implementing modern data integration and data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Azure stack of data technologies
  • Extensive hands-on experience in implementing ETL/ELT solutions with data migration experience
  • ER Studio or equivalent.
  • Experience in integration strategy including roadmap, architecture, and governance model (center of excellence is a plus)
  • Experienceworking within Agile Frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related discipline. An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
  • Exposure to data governance and master data management practices
  • Experience leading teams through technology and process changes.
