RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a .NET Core Backend Developer in Bolingbrook, IL. The client is willing to entertain remote candidates that live in Illinois, Texas, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, or Wisconsin. Any remote candidate must be willing to travel to the office at least 4 or 5 times a year for our planning meetings. This is for Backend Developers only.The client is looking for Backend Software Developers to conceptualize, design, implement, and deploy innovative technological solutions that sustain and enhance the operations, safety, and efficiency of the world's railroad systems through:

• Understanding user requirements to gain clear understanding of customer use cases
• Collaborating with the teams that build our on-locomotive products in order to define the interfaces necessary to create exciting new features
• Working with front-end developers to define services and APIs that bring the system to life for our extensive customer base
• Supporting and improving our quality processes including developing and executing automated unit tests and participating in design sessions and code reviews
• Working with testers and the DevOps team to define and develop innovative end-to-end automated testing and deployment solutions
• Working with data scientists to create new ideas that generate insights from a vast data resource

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of object-oriented development experience in C# or similar languages
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database management systems
• Experience working in a collaborative Agile development environment
• Hands-on experience with IoT cloud or on-premises platforms
• Development experience building large systems on Windows and Linux platforms
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google, or other cloud platform providers
• Experience with microservice-based IoT architecture components including RESTful APIs, gateways, messaging systems and containerization technologies such as Docker
• Must have any experience with building .NET Core apps for Linux
• Any experience with messaging queues/Rabbit MQ
• Any experience with container (Docker/k8s) based applications/Kubernetes
• Any relevant technologies (RESTful APIs, Kafka, Data Domains, Automated Tests, Containerized Apps, k8s)
• Proficiency in SQL, HTML, C#
• Proficiency of GIT, Jira/TFS or other tracking
• Kubernetes and RabbitMQ experience preferred
• Proficiency in Visual Studio or other visualization software
• Ability to climb onto a locomotive unassisted
• Adding functionality to the program
• Back office working in C#
• .NET core, .NET standard, .NET Framework is a must
• Good MS SQL Server experience
• Stored procedures to feed the APIs
• Creating/building RESTful eyes
• Docker/Kubernetes
• GIT for source control a plus
