Leads in the development, maintenance, and deployment of communication and/or network solutions across enterprises/business units. Uses knowledge of Voice systems and LAN/WAN to help design and install unified communication solutions (VoIP) and/or internal/external networks. Tests and evaluates those solutions/systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within voice (Auto Attendant, Hunt Group, Call Flow/Routing) or internal/external networks Ability to utilize multiple skillsets and expand knowledge quickly. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Plans, designs and implements unified communication solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP). Can evaluate local and wide-area networks for their ability to support a VoIP solution. Evaluates existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs. Reuses components when possible and consults in buy/build decisions. Supports/troubleshoots unified communication and/or network issues and coordinates integration with third party vendors for installation.

Has an industry recognized professional level certification in an applicable technology. Develops and maintains all VoIP systems, applications, including LAN/WAN, wireless, security, and voice configurations. Advanced troubleshooting skills required for voice and network performance issues and implements and maintains a disaster recovery plan for both competencies. Provides consultation with upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications systems (with an emphasis on the /BroBroadworksadsoft Platform) and call processing design and configuration. Ability to expand skillsets quickly for call processing applications such as: Call Intelligence, Call Recording, and Computer Technology Integration. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead, direct, and mentor the work of less experienced engineers. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The individual is able to provide technical leadership and drive technical standards among his peers. Follow and develop workflows/processes that deploy CDK standards. Be a resource, consultant, and technical leader to internal development, operations and support teams. Work as part of an agile development team to define, design, develop, test and implementing leading edge solutions for networking, security and unified communications. Contribute to the continuously evolving and improving development process. Meet engineering design, deliverable and installation deadlines with quality and little to no supervision. Strong customer communications skills both written and verbal.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science
  • CCNA certified or Advanced Networking experience
  • 5+ years of related expeirence
  • Focus on IP Telephony
  • Experience with Broadsoft/Broadworks or Cisco Call Manager
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Some weekends and after hours may be required.
