The Nurse Practitioner participates in the delivery of patient care by performing initial and follow-up consults, assisting in the delivery of care during procedures, as well as independent performance of approved clinical functions. This role involves providing care in a busy family practice. S(he) will participate in the quality/performance improvement program to ensure compliance with standards for quality patient care.
The Nurse Practitioner administers care within the scope of hospital policies and procedures, Primary Care Clinical Practice Guidelines and Massachusetts state regulations and standards of practice issued by The Academy of Nurse Practitioners, The American Nurses Association, and/or the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and other professional organizations. The NP acts as a resource and collaborates/cooperates with clinical staff and other hospital and health care disciplines for promotion of health to the optimal level of wellness for patients, families, and the community.
Graduate of a state approved schoolof nursing and nurse practitioner program
with ANCC and/or AANP BoardCertification.
Current Commonweath of Massachusettsnursing license with authorization to practice in the expanded role
Prior nurse practitioner experiencein a Family Medicine Practice and outpatient setting preferred, Pediatric experience preferred.
