Position Summary

Job Title: NVH Engineer

Location: 5850 Mercury Drive, Suite 250, Dearborn, MI 48126

Job Duties: Responsible for providing technical support and establishing an effective material solution process for brake programs in the area of Noise, Vibration, and Harshness ("NVH") related to brake insulators and abutment clips.
Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate and analyze test activities including dynamometer testing, modal analysis and beam testing to provide optimum NVH solutions in the least amount of time and set up and operate Brake NVH dynamometer.
• Review customer requirements and specifications, writing technical reports and communicating results with internal sales team.
• Plan, coordinate, review and analyze data provided from brake NVH lab testing such as NVH dynamometer tests, modal testing and pressure mapping, and integrate all NVH related data into test matrices, DOE's and test database.
• Conduct advancing the brake NVH test techniques, provide support to material development team of advanced vibration dampener material development for future market needs, and provide technical support and input for new product construction development projects to reduce numbers of grades without compromising functionality.
• Design lab equipment to test frequency response of vehicle brake systems under varying temperature and pressure conditions.
  

Position Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related and six (6) months of experience in the job offered or related role.

Must have experience with:

• Developing brake damping measurement system at all operation conditions, temperatures, and natural frequencies
• Brake Operating Deflection Shape-ODS analysis
• Modal analysis with BK Connect
• Oberst and Sandwich beam damping measurement and data analysis with Nomogram
