The Department of Radiology and Imaging at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University, Georgia's premier health sciences university, is recruiting a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as an Interventional Radiologist. This is a great opportunity to join a department in the midst of expansion, including growing our Georgia Cancer Center and breaking ground on our 2nd hospital site (in adjacent Columbia County). Fellowship/integrated residency training in Interventional Radiology (IR) and current or anticipated board certification in IR are required. Candidates should have an interest in teaching medical students as well as diagnostic and integrated IR/DR residents. Responsibilities include clinical service and teaching with opportunities for clinical research as well, in a busy tertiary and quaternary care center, Wellstar MCG Health. Our center has ACGME accredited IR integrated residency and diagnostic residency programs. Academic time is provided, and new research projects are encouraged. Candidates with appropriate experience and skills in leadership may apply for Section Chief of Interventional Radiology (as our current Section Chief is retiring in June 2024).

Responsibilities

90% Clinical providing patient care through procedures and clinical care

10% Teaching proving education to medical students, residents and fellows through clinical care and lectures



Required Qualifications

MD, DO or foreign equivalent

Georgia Medical License and DEA License to practice

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

-Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

-Evidence of ability as a teacher;

-Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

-Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

-Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class.
