SUMMARY

The Manager, Operations oversees the travel function for the business unit, ensuring travelers have the proper travel arrangements needed to perform their duties in an effective and economical manner. Additionally, the Manager oversees portions of the business unit's overall operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of hotel vendor relationships, including negotiation and management of contracts
  • Manage travel needs and logistics for talent and traveling staff, using discretion and judgement to balance business needs, traveler requirements and budgetary guidelines
  • Evaluate logistics needs on a weekly basis to recognize and implement efficiencies
  • Proactively monitor weather conditions and remain available as needed (including weekends) to facilitate changes necessitated by delays or postponements while minimizing expense to the company when possible
  • Act as the internal contact person for travelers; work independently to resolve online booking issues elevating and providing feedback to partner as necessary
  • Oversee relationship with charter air partner, manage manifests and invoices and provide input for annual contract renewal
  • Manage broadcast talent schedule throughout the year
  • Provide weekend and evening on-call support

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of 5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Flexible to shifting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships
