Position : Operations Specialist II, New Accounts
Location : Remote
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm CST

T ype : Full Time
Salary/Pay : $18-19/hr.
Start Date : 1/11/2021
End Date : 4/30/2021

Department: Operations; New Accounts

Summary: Responsible for effectively PROCESSING routine and non-routine activities transactions by drawing on multiple information sources and understanding multiple effects of a transaction.
Activities may not follow a pre-determined path, rather will require discretion and use of judgment. Functions may include, but are not limited to: verifying documents for completeness, adjustments to customer and/or firm accounts, performing calculations relating to exceptions and corrections, and be able to effectively communicate with financial advisors, internal headquarter associates and vendors.
Requires basic understanding of the brokerage industry and in-depth knowledge of area systems, processes and procedures including those of related departments and divisions
Handle escalated issues requiring in-depth research, communication with other areas of the firm and/or outside contact and work directly with the branch on resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with opening accounts
  • Updating account addresses, registrations, and information regarding persons authorized to act on behalf of the account
  • Monthly statements and tax documents returned due to invalid account address
  • Process various client account on-boarding and maintenance document.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment and stay organized to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, as the individual will work with several different documents and programs simultaneously
  • High computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products, especially Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality to ensure department goals and deadlines are met or exceeded
  • Management of your own time and priorities to ensure the meeting of deadlines
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus that supports firm's commitment to exceed client needs
  • Able to communicate with Team Leaders and peers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply procedures and guidelines consistently
  • Must be well organized, possess a strong attention to detail, prioritize and multi- task
  • Able to copy/paste reports and information.
  • Able to navigate through several programs simultaneously to complete steps.


Preferred:
  • 3-5 years of account processing experience desired in industry.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, the industry, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and associated terminology.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems with problem solving aptitude.
  • Business related Associate's Degree. Undergraduate degree desired
