SUMMARY

The Oracle Database Administrator supports the technical implementation of the software product delivery. Interface with team members and users, develops a thorough understanding of their requirements and then apply industry best practices and detailed knowledge of the software to design an optimal solution that supports the client's business process and meets or exceeds functional requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

Works with multiple Oracle 11/12c databases on Linux virtual servers supporting application's that includes Oracle COTS products (E-Business Suite, Fusion Middleware), and Java applications.

Routine monitoring and administering of the Oracle databases.

Understanding of database design, database creation, tuning, backup and restoration, Oracle SQL and Linux OS.

Creates Oracle Services Requests as needed and working with Oracle to resolution.

Apply Oracle patching support when applicable.

Sets up and optimizes a secured, multi-developer environment for continues development operations of the legacy application (Oracle server 11g & Oracle Forms 6I application).

The ideal candidate must have hands on experience designing databases, data modeling, and writing in SQL queries, with working knowledge with Oracle, Data Warehouse, and ETL.

Performs upgrades of the database and software to new release levels.

Starts up and shuts down the database.

Manages schema objects, such as tables, indexes and views and creating ddl, dml, dcl, and tcl commands.

Proactively monitors the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or engineering and a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience. A degree in another technical discipline may be substituted depending on other qualifications, and length and type of specialized experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION

U.S. Citizens / Green Card only due to government or federal requirement

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Proficiency with Data Modeling and SQL and its variants.

Proficient in PL/SQL coding such as writing Stored Procedures, Packages, Functions, Triggers and Views.

Experience with Oracle or other relational databases like SQL Server.

Experience in designing data models, database Schema creation and management.

Experience with Data migration, data modeling, and ETL experience.

Experience with Data Mart, Data Warehouse, and Reporting.

Perform troubleshooting on any database issues (principally Oracle Environment), performance analysis, ensuring database security, evaluating new database trends and technologies, developing and testing.

Look to leverage reusable code modules to solve problems across the team, including Data Preparation and Transformation and Data export and synchronization.

Preferred:

API Experience: Integrate web applications with other websites using WEB APIs to automate data sharing.

Hands on experience with the following tools, protocol and framework:

  • XML
  • Web APIs (Kenexa BrassRing, Everbridge, Moodle)
  • SFTP
  • MIM/LDAP
  • Oracle/SQL Server RDBMS/MySQL
  • Azure integration
  • Visual C# development
  • MS SQL Server Management Studio
  • SQL Developer or Toad
  • Oracle Experience and Data Integrations with Agency Applications (Oracle PL/SQL)
  • SOAP messaging protocol.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • WCF - Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) framework.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
