Responsibilities:

Applications for Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District and will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Should you be invited for an interview, you will be contacted by a District representative.

Southwestern College is looking for part-time Computer Science instructors. Classes may be held during weekdays, and/or evenings. Classes may also be taught online/hybrid and require district-approved distance education training courses or programs prior to instruction.

The anticipated start date is August for Fall term and January for Spring term.

Education & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications (Faculty and Academic Administrator Positions Only)

Master's in computer science or computer engineering OR

Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting or engineering OR

Bachelor's in engineering AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration OR

Bachelor's in mathematics AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration OR

Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND a Master's degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems OR

the equivalent.

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency and Java required and Python preferred.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

All District employees must participate in the COVID -19 Vaccination Program, which requires them to be fully vaccinated against COVID -19 unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Working Conditions:

Salary:

$85.49 to $93.76 per lecture hour and $70.96-$77.82 per lab hour.

Finalized Salary Placement is based on units beyond a bachelor's degree with a master's degree conferred.

Successful candidate may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
