Major Function

Responsible for the ongoing procurement of service parts in quantities sufficient to maintain the 98% customer service fill rate requirements at a minimum financial investment. Maintain main point of contact to/from the supplier responsibilities to include questions related to forecast, capacity, delivery, and receipt of goods.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting and monitoring the parts controls to assure adequate inventory balances at a minimum financial investment.
  • Using past history, Demand Solutions forecast, and other data available, determine lot sizes and safety times for materials assigned to insure that fill rate and inventory turn goals are achieved.
  • Develop economic order quantities, lot sizes, and schedules delivery consistent with required procurement and manufacturing lead-time.
  • Develop part delivery schedules with suppliers to meet customer fill rates, inventory goals, and financial objectives.
  • Execute daily systems updates.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on backordered parts.
  • Run monthly reports to validate forecast. Research variances and work directly with Strategic Forecast Analysts to determine action plans.
  • Report weekly metrics including past due POs, backorders, pending's, etc.
  • Work with engineering personnel and other information sources on bill of material changes.
  • Take action to assure that part inventories are current with changes in design or materials, devoting special attention to the aspects of parts interchangeability and new product development.
  • Issue shop work orders for assembly, disassembly, and packaging of accessories and parts kits. Exhaust all resources to gain shipment of needed part(s) for unit downs.
  • Ensure a successful partnership is maintained between Toro and assigned suppliers.
  • Work with Toro buyers in resolving supplier delivery issues.
  • Return excess inventory to the supplier.
  • Maintain systems data accuracy at all times.
  • Perform back-up duties for other Analysts as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Dimensions

Directly responsible for the inventory, fill rate, and supply controls of up to15,000 part numbers. Position significantly affects the company's profitability and requires daily interactions with individuals at a variety of levels of personnel within Toro Corporate, manufacturing plants, and vendors.

Specifications
  • BA/BS degree required. Degree designation in Business, Sourcing, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 0-3 years experience in inventory control and basic mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to plan and organize to accurately take effective actions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively and diplomatically interact; must be patient, tactful, and flexible with people from a wide range of disciplines
  • Highly self-motivated, ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple objectives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills including SAP, SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • 0 to 10% travel (domestic)
