Overview

The Physician- Gastroenterologist - Douglas Hospitalist is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Board certified/board eligible gastroenterologist. Candidates must be motivated, independent and willing to help start a new practice. H-1b eligible. Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a board certified/board eligible Gastroenterology physician to join our GI practice for Austell and Douglasville locations. This is an office location which will have 3 physicians and 2 advanced practitioners. Wellstar Medical Group is a multi specialty group with 600 Physicians and the Gastroenterologists joining the group with have a very strong referral base. Components of the practice will include call, inpatient rounding, procedures as well as an outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities
Core and Essential Functions

  • Clinical Practice of Gastroenterology including
    * The care of patients in Outpatient or Inpatient settings or both.
    * The documentation of clinical care
    * The documentation and tasks necessary for billing and other administrative functions
    * Continuing Medical Education required to maintain licensure and Board Certification
  • Required for All Jobs

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

  • Qualifications
    Required Minimum Education

  • A MD, DO Degree Required and
  • Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia Required and
  • Applicants must have completed the necessary Residency training requisite for their given specialty and be Certified or qualified for Certification by their respective specialty Board. Required
  • Required Minimum Experience

  • Previous practice experience in a Residency Training Program Required and
  • Prior practice experience, in lieu of Residency Training Preferred
  • Required Minimum Skills

  • It is expected that applicants will possess skills commensurate with their given specialty.
  • Applicants will be expected to show proof of competency for clinical skills applied for.
  • Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

  • Medical Doctor 1.00 Required 1.00
  • Additional Licenses and Certifications
