Overview

The Physician - GME Chief Resident Dept of IM - Spalding is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Job Details

Facility: Spalding Medical Center

Qualifications: The Chief Medical Resident for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Wellstar Health System Spalding shall be a PGY 4 level (or above) resident who has completed three years of formal training in Internal Medicine and is considered eligible to take the American Board of Internal Medicine Certifying Exam.

Selection criteria: Chief Residents will be appointed according to merit and the extent to which they complement the skills and abilities of the other Chief Residents chosen to lead the training program. Chief Residents will be chosen without regard for race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity or gender expression or any other type of discrimination prohibited by law. The Internal Medicine Residency Program Director will have final approval of who is invited and who is chosen to be Chief Medical Resident.
