Summary: This role will be responsible for prioritizing requirements to generate a production schedule that balances manufacturing capacity, operating efficiencies, and inventory levels; provide direction to adequately plan and utilize capacity within the facility and achieve 95% on-time delivery; maintain accurate MRP system data to enable effective production schedules, purchasing requirements, and inventory levels.

Position Outcomes: To perform the job successfully, an individual must accomplish the following position objectives:

  • Develop production plans in order to meet customer requirements and achieve 95% OTD
  • Maintain the integrity of the data within a MRP system from a planning aspect
  • Assist master planner in managing inventory levels to improve working capital while meeting customer needs
  • Achieve Schedule attainment targets through the coordination of work center activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct daily MRP runs and issue jobs for manufacturing lines and work on automating manual
processes where necessary/applicable to gain efficiencies.
  • Create, update and maintain schedules and work with production to maximize throughput to
meet OTS goals by Level loading demand, minimize overtime and changeovers to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts with stakeholders and quickly resolve them as they arise.
  • Ability to develop production schedules for finished / semi-finished items considering the
current capacity, manpower, material and machine availability.
  • Develop process knowledge and ability to utilize data analytics, ERP system and available tools
to execute sustainable schedules.
  • Able to prioritize customer expedite requests and makes changes to the schedules and
communicate changes effectively with the stakeholders.
  • Examines the status of past due, yield issues, other delays etc. and communicate to
changes stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to handle high volume of customer service inquiries and provide delivery updates
for hot, large key customer orders.
  • Understand semi-finished inventory safety levels across multiple phases of manufacturing
and execute schedules to maintain healthy POU materials.
  • Participate in Kaizens, materials strategy projects, lean deployments and document
standard work to continually improve processes.
  • Escalate system discrepancies and works with team to resolve issues. (not limited to - EOL dispositions, Lead time corrections, Spike order management,
Data integrity issues etc).
  • Take more responsibilities as they arise and drive effectively in Supply-SIOP sessions.

  • Properly execute operations planning through our ERP
  • Create, review, amend, and maintain attainable and effective material and production plans
  • Work in conjunction with Customer Service, Sales, Production and Purchasing to support the production plan.
  • Plan and Execute demand for subsidiary sites (Domestic and International).
  • Attend the daily manufacturing execution meeting and follow-up on any open action items from the meeting.
  • Update/manage Manufacturing lead times and Market lead times in the system.
  • Support and execute continuous improvement in all processes of the planning department with focus on lean manufacturing.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related supply chain management field
  • 5 years minimum experience in production planning
  • Working knowledge of an ERP/MRP system in a manufacturing and/or E-Commerce environment
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement teams and activities
  • APICS certification preferred (CPIM/CSCP)
