What We Are Looking For

The Polymer Process Engineer will be involved with mold qualification/debug trials and molding improvement research projects. You will have the opportunity to learn how to operate the machines. You will also be able to use the experience you have gained in process optimization whether from on-the-job or school-based learning. Experience in polymer behavior will be useful in this position. This is your opportunity to let your skills shine! New engineering graduates with a Plastics/ Polymer discipline are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do
  • Develop new injection molding processes, define process recipes and auxiliary equipment requirements and specifications, and review processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of molded products
  • Coordinate product design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of molding processing methods
  • Collaborate with product engineering and testing and metrology personnel to effectively manage and execute new mold tool testing and qualification
  • Research new molding technologies, automation, machines, and process methods
  • Collaborate with other teams as appropriate to establish a 3-5 year technical vision and roadmap for Panduit Global Molding
  • On occasion provide technical expertise support for production molding and assist the polymers research team with appropriate tests and or sample creation.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Polymer/Plastics discipline highly preferred
  • Experience in
    • Scientific principles of injection molding
    • Principles of injection mold construction
    • Molding Machine operation
    • Molding machine ancillary equipment operation, mold heaters, hot runner controllers, vision and robot systems
  • Knowledge of Arburg and/or Engel machine operation is preferred
