Description:
The Preservice Specialist is responsible for scheduling and preregistering patients for services at Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) facilities. This position consists of inbound and outbound calls to notify patients of their appointments and informing them of any special instructions needed prior to services. Constant collaboration with multiple departments to best utilize equipment, staff, and other resources while accommodating physician preference and patient needs, consistent with Saint Alphonsus health System's values and missions.
We are looking to hire a PreService Specialist in our Regional Scheduling Department in Boise located at 8757 W. Emerald Street.

As a Pre-Service Specialist in Boise, you will be responsible for obtaining and/or verifying demographic, clinical, financial and insurance information in the process of scheduling patients for service delivery. You will also be responsible for conducting insurance eligibility/benefit verification, pre-certification/authorization, and referral clearance for patients. He or she will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer service experience through patient interactions that will be primarily phone based.

Our ideal candidate has the ability to problem solve quickly in a busy environment while working independently. He or she will need to utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills while interacting with internal and external customers. You will also need to be comfortable accessing and navigating payer websites and utilizing other computer systems. The ability to provide superior customer service will be essential in this position.

General Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of the core Microsoft Suite offerings
  • Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minute)

Education:
  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Past work experience of at least 2 years within a healthcare provider or payer environment performing patient access and/or customer service activities
  • Prior experience working with medical insurances and navigating payer websites
