We provide expert consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects focusing on acquisition strategy, implementation activities, cloud computing, systems engineering, and Cyber Security policy and engineering.We have an immediate opening for a Principal Data Architect to provide support to our Marine Corps client who supports the modernization and sustainment of Marine Corps supply and maintenance functions through the development of a web-based common user interface that provides an integrated and distributed logistics capability enabling leaders to effectively plan, manage, execute, and monitor logistics operations from both a garrison and a forward deployed environment.
Responsibilities

The Principal Data Architect:

  • Develop architectures and implement solutions to transform enterprise data and enterprise data systems
  • Design data structures (staging, intermediate staging, Dimension, Fact, Aggregate, views,) well-suited to meet the business requirements
  • Plan and develop various database schemas. Analyze all data from sources and develop logical models for various business intelligence sources
  • Develop Fit-for-Purpose User-defined views (subset of architectural data) created for a specific purpose
  • Provide detailed knowledge of AWS Cloud Architecture & Integration, DevSecOps Automation & Optimization, Application & Database Designs, and Software Development Lifecycle & Tools
  • Develop DoDAF Meta Model to provide information as needed to collect, organize, and store data in a way easily understood, including but not limited to Conceptual Data Model, Logical Data Model, Physical Exchange Specification
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure
  • Evaluate legacy applications and systems to determine viability to be migrated or transferred to cloud services
  • Implement and manage cloud-based systems for business use and help debug cloud stacks
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum SECRET clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field, and 10+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field, and 7+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant industry certifications such as DoD Enterprise Architect/CCNP/Azure or AWS Certified Cloud Architect/EMC Data Science Associate (EMCDSA)/Cloudera Certified Data Scientist (CCDH)/ Certified Apache Hadoop Developer (HCAHD) (Hortonworks)
  • Hands-on experience in design and implementation of ETL framework for complex data warehouse projects using AWS Redshift, BigData, Hadoop or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Kabana, Jupiter playbook, Appian, and AWS Quick sight a plus
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Excellent knowledge of relational data modeling, SQL and data warehousing and experience in multiple database platforms, including MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple relational data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle, DB2, etc.)
  • Experience in building data lakes and data marts by working with each business unit and building high impact BI reports
  • Prior experience developing, integrating, maintaining, monitoring, and performance tuning of ETL, data pipeline, API, data extract, and ad hoc queries
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), services/micro services, service bus, application program interface (API) development, API gateway, data management, and/or application cloud migration
  • Knowledge of FEDRAMP, FEDRAMP+, and related cloud computing architectures, services, and requirements
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • New technology awareness and research skills
  • Familiarity with DoD network architecture
