Process Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety and performance expectations. Engineers typically work as part of a team. Project size and financial responsibility increases with experience, including potential leadership of engineering teams and large capital or developmental projects. Also, positions in operations, maintenance and other functional areas are available for potential growth opportunities. The incumbent typically reports to an Operating Asset Leader or Engineering Technical Leader and receives direction in the form of specific objectives. Key customers include: operations and reliability team members, site and sector management, Process and Technology Development (P&TD) team members.

  • Deliver and track results against project objectives that support prescribed business needs.
  • Assimilate and apply technical information that pertains to industry trends in tissue manufacturing and converting processes.
  • Transfer technical knowledge to engineering, operations and reliability teams.
  • Develop and apply statistical process control methods to meet quality standards.
  • Champion experimental design and statistical analysis principles.
  • Apply engineering standards and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems across multiple technologies.
  • Identify process optimization and cost savings opportunities. Recommend and execute suitable courses of action.
  • Monitor assigned operations and review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new, or modernization of existing, processing equipment.
  • Work with staff P&TD team members to implement product and process improvements.
  • Document work to ensure information is retrievable.
  • Demonstrate effective oral communication skills across a broad range of audiences.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's (or MS) in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper or other relevant engineering degree is required.
  • Relevant industrial co-op/intern experience is highly desirable.
  • December 2022 - May 2023 graduates and/or availability
  • A 3.0/4.0 or higher Grade Point Average is required
  • Mobility to accept varying corporate and manufacturing facility assignments in different geographic regions
  • Applicants must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. on a regular, full-time basis. Kimberly-Clark does not typically offer employment to holders of F-1, J-1, or H-1 visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.
