Job Description

The Product Manager should have a passionate dedication to their craft and a desire to work with peers that inspire them on a daily basis. This role will work cross functionally with other product areas within OnStar Business Solutions and across the enterprise. Additionally, the Product Manager will work cross-functionally with teams including IT/Development, engineering, marketing, finance, operation, sales & marketing to bring products to market. This role report to the Product Manager, Onstar Business Solutions Fleet and Vehicle Management.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Manage Product throughout the product lifecycle by leading the gathering and prioritizing of product and customer requirements, defining the product features and authoring user stories
  • Develop and maintain Objectives and Key Results (OKR's) for the assigned product and align to the product area OKR's
  • Prioritize creation, enhancement or termination of offering, process or feature within relevant contexts such as improved user experience, platform investment, monetization opportunities, and new business opportunities
  • Define requirements and work closely with IT/development, UX, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure execution and key results are achieved
  • Analyze developing trends in the fleet telematics and connected vehicle industries, Data and Platform as a Service, digital experiences and apply them to product area roadmap
  • Influence and implement ideas cross-functionally with appropriate level of regionalization.

Additional Job Description

Required Skills/Capabilities:
  • 5-7 years' experience in product management or program management for B2B or B2C software enabled services.
  • Exposure to big data, API's and end user application development
  • Connected vehicle and telematics experience
  • Experience with software product development and lifecycles, including agile methodologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to communicate with team members, cross-functionals areas, leadership, and consumers of the products
  • Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative with a strong drive to innovate, invent and disrupt
  • Sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to delving deep into the challenges they experience
  • Experience applying Human-Centered Design/d.Thinking principles to product development
  • Team player who collaborate well with others including partners in the global regions
  • Supplier relationship management and SOW development

Preferred Skills/Capabilities:
  • Fleet services/fleet management industry experience or knowledge
  • Experience with SaaS, DaaS or PaaS products
  • Hands on software development, architecture, or business analysis experience
  • Financial acumen and business case development

Degree Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred
