The Office of Inclusive Excellence & Community Engagement strives to empower individuals to transform their lives and achieve their highest potential by offering programs and services that will enhance learning and lead to their success in STEM fields.

The Program Coordinator will plan, design, evaluate, modify, and coordinate programs for the Office of Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement (IECE). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing summer bridge, the math program, and the Engineering Success Pathways program. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for assessing and identifying new strategies to increase registration and implementing changes to summer program structures. The Program Coordinator will manage hiring, registration, housing, marketing and communications with industry partners.

Essential Functions

In the capacity of Program Coordinator for the Inclusive Excellence & Community Engagement Office, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, design, evaluate, modify and coordinate programs for the Dr. Edward N. Prather Summer Bridge Program and other assigned STEM initiatives in CEAS. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail; Maintain a summer residential guide including packing list, and rules, regulations; Recruitment and selection of summer bridge students in collaboration with representatives from CEAS, A&S, and CAHS; Participate in the implementation of a marketing strategy to recruit students and program participants from Cincinnati State and UC-Blue Ash College; With the support of representatives from CEAS, A&S, and CAHS plan weekly College Readiness Seminar, and off-campus field trips for summer participants; Coordinate lodging, travel and meal accommodations for summer program participants; Along with the Program Manager for the Choose Ohio 1st Grant, match students with success coaches; Disseminate communication about the summer bridge program to the university community and other constituents through newsletters, social media, conference presentations and other publication venues; Develop, administer, and analyze yearly assessment/evaluation questionnaires, surveys and rubrics for the summer bridge program; Gather data and information as needed to support grant activities and proposals submittals; Serve as primary contact for Parents during the Summer Bridge Program.
  • Coordinate scheduling of collaborative learning classes and learning communities with First Year Experience Office- Learning Commons.
  • Assist in the coordination of diversity initiatives and outreach for LQBTQ+ and Veteran CEAS students - Counsel, advise, and consult with students, faculty, staff and alumni individually and collectively to embrace the importance of building an inclusive, appreciative, and welcoming environment; Serve on campus committees in support of an inclusive community; Actively engage in a leading role in matters pertaining to current and prospective student programs and initiatives; Develop a Society of American Military Engineers student group; Develop an oStem (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) student group.
  • Provide financial administrative support for Summer Bridge Program & Special Events - Track all expenditures; Maintain monthly expenditure reports; Maintain records including participant attendance where food is served and store participant signatures.
  • Understand UC's policy & procedures and how it pertains to the Department and position.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
