SummaryThe Program Manager for Community Engagement is responsible for a portfolio of program management activities surrounding gender equity-focused experiential learning. The PM directs internship programs related to feminist leadership development, reproductive rights/health/justice, gender-based violence, and other Newcomb Institute priority areas. The PM develops and facilitates activities with a gender focus as part of the internship training program, to ensure that our students have the knowledge and skills to engage in responsible community work and change. They serve as a liaison to internship sites and community partners, providing support for internship placement and selection processes. This position will coordinate all aspects of experiential learning opportunities at NI, including internship programs and student participation in conferences and seminars. This role will recruit students, organize the selection process, and collaborate with our community partners to ensure students are meeting program expectations. This role will also advise student organizations related to reproductive rights/health/justice, community engagement, and/or feminist leadership development.
* Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.* Two years of experience advising undergraduate students.
* Demonstrated experience of community engagement and experience with service learning.* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and share responsibility as part of teams.* Demonstrated ability to cultivate partnerships and networks with scholars, university partners, and community organizations related to researching gender equity.* Experience and commitment to working with diverse student communities.* Familiarity with the reproductive justice framework, the repro advocacy community in New Orleans, and/or other gender equity frameworks. * Interest in and experience working on gender equity issues related to leadership, reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence.
