Summary:
Roswell Park is seeking a temporary benefited programmer/analyst to work alongside scientific subject matter experts on a multi-disciplinary team to design and implement tools to manage workflow, data, samples, and analysis in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for a Molecular Laboratory. Candidates will provide technical expertise for software development of the front end web-based GUI as well as back end REST services including user authentication using oAuth2, REST API, and database. They will also interface and process HL7 messages from lab instrumentation, electronic health records, and other services into the LIMS.

Leads the design and implementation of software development, including but not limited to, web based applications, interactive dashboards, operational tools, integrations with third part applications and data sources. Performs intermediate to complex computer program analysis and design; researches supportive data and writes, codes, tests, and debugs computer programs; monitors program implementation and designs programs accordingly.

Starting salary for this position is $83, 550 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of front end GUI development using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React/Angular/Vue, experience creating and consuming REST APIs, experience with relational and graph databases such as Neo4j/MySQL/Mongo DB, and version control systems such as git. Must be proficient in either Python or with GraphQL Typescript in ReactJS. Experience with docker, test automation frameworks, and Linux command line are a plus. Understanding of information security in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
