Our Structural Engineering practice collaborates with architects, building owners, and builders to design solutions for projects of all levels of complexity. Engineers seek the best balance among the demands of function, sustainability, constructability, schedule, and budget. As a candidate for this Structural Engineer position, you will work with our Applied Science practice, leveraging a unique combination of technologies and expertise to engineer practical solutions to problems of national and international importance.

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Applied Science team . You will be part of an engineering team that supports projects at US Department of Energy facilities in New Mexico and across the country. Candidates for the Structural Engineer position should have experience in projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, health care, and research facility design, and tenant renovation work preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, design, and details for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes
  
• Design of conventional structures, including industrial facilities and office buildings
  
• Support of both new design and renovation of existing structures
  
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines
  
• Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment
  

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer's License
  
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  
• Basic knowledge of structural systems, components, and load paths
  
• Experience with current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa-3D, and Microsoft Office Suite
  
• Strong graphic, technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  
• Ability and willingness to travel within the US
  
• The position requires the candidate to gain and hold US Security clearance
