The Project Manager is responsible for leading small-medium project teams to manage and deliver projects that vary is scope and complexity across the organization.  The role will be responsible for high visibility, medium sized client contract implementations. The project manager will typically lead project teams comprised of operational staff, client clinical staff, and state Medicaid agency staff. Key responsibilities will include the management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The project manager has the authority to run the day-to-day project execution and must verify that the project produces the required quality, within the specified constraints of scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to capture client requirements
  • Delegate, track, monitor and control project tasks
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

 

 

  • 3+ years of proven working experience in project management
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Experience managing business/contract implementation projects preferred

 

Technical Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to organize and plan work efficiently within set time limits
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate project status, issues and information to the client and
  • project team
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications skills (preferably with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Masters degree preferred

Experience: 3+ years of experience managing complex, multi-year projects

Certification Required: Project Management Certification (PMP)
