Our Jacksonville, FL location is looking to add a Purchasing Assistant to the team. This talented individual will be working to assist the needs of the Purchasing Team and company Inventory needs. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 5:00pm.


  • Working with the purchasing manager to assist the purchasing department
  • Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency
  • Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
  • Reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance
  • Using quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management
  • Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records
  • Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
  • Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors
  • Handle Vendor Returns, Daily Returns from Drivers for defective and damage items.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-years' experience in a purchasing position
  • Calm demeanor and level head for trouble shooting and handling a variety of issues as they arise
  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory, and supply management systems
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organization skills and good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Computer literacy: In addition to data entry and typing, the Purchasing Assistant must have knowledge of basic spreadsheet and word processing creation software.
  • Problem-solving: These professionals should be able to use critical and creative thinking to identify and resolve issues with products and orders.
