Position Summary

To inspect and verify incoming raw materials meet the specified criteria per the product specification. Ability to analyze and in some cases measure raw materials verifying they comply with required specifications. Support other inspections as required such as in-process and final inspection. Also, support the internal audit function as deemed necessary. Exhibits and supports the development of a culture that identifies safe, quality production as number one goal.

Principal Responsibilities

  • The ability to inspect and verify raw materials, check lot numbers, and direct these materials to specified areas
  • The ability to measure the following properties: wire elongation, wire plating adherence (snap test), wire resistance, visual surface conditions-including variations in wire texture, color and other abnormalities, and wire outer diameter and other pertinent testing required i.e. Kocour testing for plating thickness.
  • The ability to report on above measurements, label spools, generate test reports and maintain test reports.
  • The ability to disposition non-conforming products by reworking, topping, scrapping, and filling out test reports.
  • The ability to notify the appropriate person(s) when non-conforming products are found.
  • The ability to retrieve product specifications and maintain these specifications as hard copy or on network database. The ability to retrieve information pertaining to shop orders, inspection, and shipping. The ability to operate the Blue M Oven by preparing products for annealing, loading oven, and set oven program for annealing. The ability to maintain lab area and its' equipment in a clean and organized manner. Understands the SOM,'s, SMI's, TG's, and QP's that are used to perform their job. The ability to understand the following: definition, origin, and purpose of ISO; benefit of ISO registration; organization of quality manual; identity of management representative for ISO; and quality policy.


Education / Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Background in inspection and testing of products using gauging such as calipers, micrometers, laser micrometer, tensile testers, inspection microscopes.
  • Five years experience in an area relevant to the assignment.
  • Knowledge and experience in receiving inspection, in-process and final inspection methods, data management, lot traceability, non-conforming material control.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in ISO 9001:2015 / AS9100 Rev. D quality operating systems environment.
  • Ability to interact and work with different departments to report on quality issues.
  • Microsoft word and excel basic knowledge
  • SAP knowledge preferred, but not mandatory.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to loud noise. Work may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosive, fumes or airborne particles.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, walk, sit, reach, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the manufacturing plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
• Teleflex Medical OEM LLC promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and for-cause drug testing.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during course of a workday.
