Quality and Safety Program Coordinator
General summary/purpose:
We are currently seeking a motivated, energetic, and independent individual to coordinate operational and academic quality and safety efforts across pediatric medical care in the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting the quality and safety program across pediatric care units, divisions, and committees and helping to develop, measure, execute, and report on patient safety and quality improvement programs related to pediatric medical care. The coordinator performs all activities necessary to ensure a smoothly functioning quality and safety program and exercises independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems, prioritization of workload, and coordination of special projects or programs. The Program Coordinator serves as a resource in a team environment and provides some support to children's center faculty and teams including correspondence, briefs, presentations, communications, manuscripts, project proposals and data management. The coordinator assists with research projects related to quality and safety in pediatrics.
We seek an individual who is keenly interested and engaged with the mission of pediatric patient safety and quality improvement. Desired candidate will have experience in one or many of the following: administrative, quality, or research (clinical/health service) program coordination; project management; performance improvement methods; quality measures and analytics. The individual should have at least a basic skill set and knowledge in fields related to process/quality improvement science and methods, health systems delivery, patient safety, and/or quality and outcomes.
The coordinator must be people-oriented and willing to independently approach and engage stakeholders and build relationships. The coordinator will organize and assist leadership in the development of a broad and diverse portfolio of initiatives (clinical, administrative, and research) and requires the ability to flexibly adapt their style based on the needs of the teams. The coordinator will lend project support to multiple teams at one time.
