  • Position Summary

    The Quality Supervisor regulates and enforces food safety and quality practices during operations. This position supervises the Quality Assurance technicians to ensure quality systems are being enforced and managed during production. This position must maintain rapport with production to identify, solve and prevent process deviations.

    A key position within the quality team providing expertise and fostering a cross-departmental quality and compliance mind-set. This position is charged with monitoring, maintaining, and continuously improving all aspects of GMP compliance.

    Key Responsibilities, Opportunities and Challenges:

    OPERATIONAL TASKS
    • Commands and enforces quality and food safety practices during operations
    • Maintains holds and develops corrective actions and monitors for effectiveness
    • Utilizes root cause analysis tools to solve in process deviations
    • Empowers and supports quality technicians in routine tasks and the tools to maintain QA
    • Develops tools to maintain food safety and quality standards
    • Facilitates with production the monitoring of processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement
    • Investigates deviations to reduce complaints and product on hold
    • Troubleshoots using product tests and product specification measurements
    • Supports Quality Program in development and implementation
    • Advances and conducts internal audits
    • Updates HACCP and SOPs as needed
    • Ensures training of associates at all levels on quality programs.
    • Interact with other supervisors/managers within FCC to share best practices

    SYSTEMS TASKS
    • Manages quality assurance team by scheduling, assigning tasks and providing training
    • Approves timecards in Kronos
    • Investigates and trace product in SAP and supports in traceability exercises
    • Navigates SmartSolve for all document control
    • Actively participates in the change control process
    • Summarizes data, and prepares and interprets reports for use by management
    • Acts as a communication liaison between management and quality staff to support corporate and plant-driven initiatives

    Qualifications:

    B.S. Degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or other related field required
    3-5 years manufacturing required, food, pharma, or dietary supplements industry required
    1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
    Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
    Superb people and supervisory skills including mentoring, coaching, performance, motivating, and directing staff.

    1st shift - same 5am-1:30pm Mon - Fri (weekends may if needed for coverage).
