Job Summary
The Quality Test Engineer III is a key role within Aries Systems and as part of the wider Elsevier Research Technology department. This position is responsible for developing and executing manual and automated tests to support on-time delivery of high-quality software products, while promoting quality engineering in an agile development squad.

You are passionate about shipping high quality software to the customer as quickly as possible and you make it your business to question everything to achieve that. You understand that shipping high quality software starts with quality requirements and are comfortable helping to define these and fleshing out acceptance criteria.You are confident talking with customers and internal stakeholders and engaging them in the process where necessary.You are a strong communicator with collaboration at the heart of how you work.You are accustomed to working inagileteams following practices that supportcontinuous integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests for assigned projects to enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time and to specification
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to plan testing and to ensure products meet product requirements and quality standards
  • Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business
  • Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly. Ensure results of root cause analyses are addressed
  • Research tools and participate in initiatives to implement those that will most effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the processes employed for test planning and execution, defect tracking, and metric and status reporting
  • All other job duties as assigned

Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of Quality or Software Engineering experience with web applications
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years developing automated tests using C#
  • Proven experience with Selenium test implementation
  • CI/CD experience and knowledge
  • Strong understanding of QE methodologies and the software development process
  • Team player, self-starter
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of industry trends and ability to evaluate those that may benefit the organization
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement
  • Strong research skills (tools/root cause analysis)

Desired skills
  • Comfortable working with cloud-based infrastructure usingAWSor similar
  • SOAPandREST APIstesting experience using Postman or similar
  • Experience with performanceandload testing tools and metrics
