Position Summary

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Acts in a safe manner that protects self and others in perfroming work. Prepares and conducts tests through specification of equipment, modification, assembly, and installation of test fixtures and control instrumentation. Conducts tests on shock absorption and vibration isolation devices and other products, recording the setup and test results.
Essential Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Meets with engineering personnel to review test plans and procedures and interpret conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.
  • Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications.
  • Installs unit to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
  • Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.
  • Monitors controls and instruments and records test data in EXCEL.
  • Reviews test results with engineering personnel and assembly supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve design and test problems on individual products and production tests.
  • Recommends changes in test methods or equipment for engineering review.
  • Perform Design of Experiments either in the lab or on the floor and record results.
  • Perform gage R& R studies.
  • Work independently with direction from Test Engineering or Test Management.
  • Able to setup and perform testing from Acceptance or Qualification procedures with little direction.
  • Able to trouble shoot various mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic test equipment.
  • Able to coordinate test activities and appropriately schedule testing according to business priority.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Requirements & Skills:
  • Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years technical experience without Associates or higher.
  • Hands on experience is preferred with general laboratory electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, voltmeters ,power supplies, data acquisition systems, force, pressure, displacement, velocity transducers, and accelerometer.
  • Ability to qualify for approved crane and hoist training.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and ability to be trained.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to use Word and Excel.
