Job Description Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
The flumer position is responsible for operating and monitoring the equipment and raw product flow from the receiving area into the even flow bins and to production as specified by the daily plan. This position is also responsible for monitoring the raw product and making notifications to the shift leadership team regarding any issues with the raw product including raw quality and foreign material.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To successfully perform this job, an individual must:

• Have the ability and willingness to follow instructions.
• Be knowledgeable of safe lifting techniques.
• Must be able to work all shifts (Day, Swing, Graveyard, Rotation), All days of the week (Mon - Sun), and overtime as needed.
• Be able to communicate orally and/or in writing at a level to effectively complete the tasks of this position.
• Be physically able to perform the work.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to use a computer for basic equipment monitoring.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee:

• Is required to sit, stand, walk, climb, talk, hear, and taste or smell.
• The surface the employee must walk on is a level, non-slip concrete surface.
• Must be able to climb up two (2) to twenty (20) steps, with a variable step height of up to 8.5 inches, and a handrail for both hands, to get to the trim/inspection areas.
• Have the ability to stand for a majority of the day.
• Must be able to bend the body at waist level on a continuous basis to pick up the potatoes.
• Must have good eye-hand coordination.
• Must have good finger and manual dexterity.
• Is required to reach with his/her hands and arms repetitively.
• Must be able to lift up to ten (20) pounds on continuous basis, and, on occasion, up to ten (50) pounds.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $17.03 - $17.78
