POSITION PROFILEThe Recruiter supports the organization's recruiting efforts by sourcing, recruiting, screening, and interviewing candidates to fill organizational roles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Generalists to plan recruitment strategy (ensure job descriptions are accurate and complete, discuss selection criteria and what success in the job looks like, identify outreach sources, etc.)
  • Post job openings internally and externally. Source applicants as needed using ATS, LinkedIn, Indeed, social media, or other internet resources
  • Review and assess applicants\u0027 education, experience, training and other qualifications
  • Conduct phone screenings, initial interviews and/or participate in interview panels with hiring managers
  • Maintain interview questions data base
  • Obtain and document selection reasons and collect/archive interview notes
  • Ensure hiring activities are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and company policies
  • Collaborate with hiring manager and HR Generalist to calculate salary offer.
  • Prepare and extend job offers
  • Partners with all stakeholders on employment branding initiatives and promotes employment brand through job postings, social media and career fairs in order to generate external candidate demand for opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with secondary education, vocational education, employment agencies, military, and professional organizations
  • Ensure hiring practices are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Other work related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\u0027s degree preferred, high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 2 to 4 years recruiting, talent acquisition or human resources experience required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP OR SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Valid drivers\u0027 license
  • Experience working in the transportation industry desired, specifically working within a DOT regulated environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respond verbally and in writing to candidates, employees, management, peers, and outside agencies
  • Effective public speaking and ability to present to employee groups, community groups, management, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple job openings and perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, and/or HRIS systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with HR Team members on projects and initiatives
  • Willing to travel occasionally to other Carlile terminals both inside and outside of Alaska
WORKING ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office related devices. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
