Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Provides leadership in identifying & enrolling undergraduate students. Serves as primary contact with local high school guidance counselors and principals, coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters, identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students in the region, and plans student receptions and counselor briefings, etc.

Additional Department Summary: Recruit students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the university, its programs, and scholarship opportunities across the U.S. This includes extensive travel around the country providing leadership in identifying & enrolling undergraduate students, serving as primary contact with local high school guidance counselors and principals, coordinating recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters, identifying prospective qualified undergraduate students, planning student receptions and counselor briefings, etc

The Regional UA Admissions Rep. when not traveling for recruitment will support the Director of Undergraduate Admissions through analyzing data on current and future territories and markets

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, communications, education, or counseling. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Extensive travel, as well as evening and weekend work is required. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. The capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.

Skills and Knowledge: An interest in working with prospective college students and their families; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling is preferred.
