Responsibilities

Provides professional nursing care to Emergency Department patients in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. Coordinates patient care planning with other hospital disciplines. Reports to the Department Manager and interfaces with RN IV, Department Educator, Assistant Manager and Unit Supervisors.

Qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred. Current CA Registered Nurse License required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications required. Successful completion of Stroke/Sepsis Education competency within 6 months of hire required. Minimum six (6) months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital or the equivalent required. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and previous ER experience, and/or Six (6) months acute care experience preferred. Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) & College of American Pathologist (CAP) Requirements preferred.
