West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Research Analyst for the Department of Medicine.   

About the Opportunity

This position will serve as the clinical research analyst for the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.  Advances research in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine as the point of contact for all faculty and fellows to obtain assistance with investigator initiated research. Assists with research projects, helps to gather and analyze data. The position works in electronic medical record systems, and RedCap to obtain data for research. Supports the Chief of PCCSM to promote research in the section and help coordinate research initiatives, including publication of such research.

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate and expedite project completion primarily for faculty and fellows. This includes coordination and assistance with IRB protocols, abstracts, case reports, chart reviews, surveys, posters, review articles, quality improvement and research.
  • Manage projects, meet regularly with residents and others developing projects
  • Coordinate the longitudinal resident QI/Research curriculum and serve on the planning team to improve the research curriculum.
  • Managing data and protocol-specific tools to aid in study documentation and completion. 
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (masters preferred) in a STEM or healthcare-related field or equivalant combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in project management, research analysis, study design or equivalent field of study, required (experience in clinical departments preferred)
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and a statistics package such as JMP, SPSS, R, or SAS.
  • Candidates should be familiar with the research process
  • Able to use statistical software programs such as JMP, SPSS, or R.
  • Familiarity with the statistics utilized in human medical studies and quality improvement
  • Ability to query large databases through programming languages such as SQL are a plus.
