Develop and apply solid-state NMR and DNP methods to elucidate the structure and dynamics of carbohydrates, proteins, and other associated biomolecules in a cellular context. Several projects are available in the group with a focus on the structural elucidation of the disease-relevant fungal pathogens, the bioenergy-rich plant materials, and the microalgae that are essential to the production of biopolymers and biopharmaceuticals. The research group also has projects on method development to enable atomic-level characterization of cellular systems and the coding and development of a carbohydrate NMR database. More detailed description can be found at the MSU website of Tuo Wang research group.
