Introduction:

Primary Purpose:

The Resettlement Program Associate is responsible for promoting the delivery of high quality initial resettlement and integration services, primarily Reception and Placement (R&P) programming, across the CWS affiliate network. This position has responsibilities related to monitoring, data analysis, program development, training, technical assistance and proposal and report writing. The position will be assigned specific areas of focus related to resettlement programs implementation for which the position will be responsible for leading development of guidance and oversight for the affiliate network. An important prerequisite for this position is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a collegial manner and to work independently to carry assignments through to completion. Domestic travel is required.

Essential Duties:

Maintain up-to-date self-education about resettlement and integration programs, and develop specific expertise in assigned aspects of resettlement programming. Ensure other unit colleagues are informed as appropriate.

Maintain day-to-day contact and provide R&P technical assistance to an assigned portfolio of affiliates on overall resettlement program implementation.

Conduct desktop, on-site, and ongoing monitoring of affiliates and sub-offices for compliance with resettlement and integration program requirements.

In coordination with the Associate Director of Post-Arrival Services, analyze program requirements to ensure agency compliance; as necessary, assist in the development or revision of CWS policies, standard operating procedures and training materials to ensure high quality service provision by CWS affiliates.

Contribute to the development of the CWS R&P annual proposal and other proposals as requested.

Establish indicators to measure achievement and evaluate outcomes; through regular review of qualitative and quantitative data, identify program trends, promising practices and areas for improvement and make recommendations for program development and enhancement in assigned R&P focus areas.

In collaboration with colleagues, develop and provide needs-based technical assistance and training for affiliates and colleagues, such as e-learning modules, conference sessions, webinars, in-person trainings, communities of practice and one-on-one phone calls.

Liaise with other unit colleagues for the purpose of sharing relevant information regarding resettlement sites.

As requested, represent CWS at internal and external conferences, meetings, committees and working groups with CWS colleagues, national Resettlement Agencies, federal partners and other stakeholders.

Performs other related duties and projects as requested.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience required.

Master’s degree in social work, nonprofit administration or similar field preferred.

Experience:

Experience in a local resettlement affiliate or a national office of a resettlement agency necessary; local resettlement affiliate experience strongly preferred;

Must have significant experience in working with large federal grants;

Knowledge/experience with monitoring and evaluation techniques required;

Must be able to travel to affiliate sites and be able to troubleshoot;

Excellent project and data management skills;

Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to manage a large and diverse workload under pressure and with competing priorities;

Ability to maintain a high performance standard with attention to detail;

Experience in general office work, processing information and materials and maintaining records and files;

Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; ability to work effectively with partners and teams;

Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times to represent the professional and institutional interests of CWS;

Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and database software is essential.
