Job Purpose and Scope:

As a Residential Mortgage Success Champion Lead, you will be at the forefront of our mortgage loan manufacturing process, guiding, and ensuring the smooth progression of mortgage loans from application through to a successful closing. This pivotal role is designed for an enthusiastic, creative, proactive, self-motivated leader who excels in decision-making, clearing underwriting conditions when necessary, and orchestrating internal processes. A significant part of your role will involve developing the Success Champion role and leading a team of Success Champions, onboarding and training new mortgage originators and operations members by providing them with the tools and knowledge for success.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor the progression of mortgage loans from origination to closing, ensuring each step is completed on time.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the loan process to prevent delays and when necessary, verify underwriting conditions have been cleared.
  • Collaborate with other success champions, mortgage originators, processors, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless progression of loans.
  • Act as a primary resource for questions and guidance throughout the loan process.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for success champions, mortgage originators and operations members.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new success champions, mortgage originators, and other operations members.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve challenges.
  • Implement best practices and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among internal teams.
  • Ensure that all loans are processed in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Perform regular quality checks to maintain accuracy and prevent errors.
  • Maintain detailed records of loan statuses and provide regular updates to management.
  • Generate reports and insights on process efficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Proactively identify issues that could impede loan progression and develop solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant teams to address and resolve any challenges.
  • Continuously seek ways to streamline and improve the loan processing workflow.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality to work.
  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of mortgage loan manufacturing processes and Encompass Software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    Position Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required; bachelors degree in finance, business, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in mortgage processes from application, to clear, to close and Encompass Software, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
